Thank you!

This year’s fall Clare Gardens Park clean up was a big success. Lots of volunteers and no one turned us down when we asked for help!

Friday afternoon Grandpa John showed up to sweep the playground sand off the paths. He couldn’t make it Saturday because he was minding his infant grandkids. Any park user with a mobility issue is thankful. The paths look better too!

Then there were the gardeners that showed up to help dig out our perennial beds on Athlone and transplant them to a newly created temporary bed, with soil donated by neighbours. The temporary bed is well away from the Athlone watermain construction site set to begin in the spring of 2022.

When some of the plants were too heavy to lift, no problem. Several dads come to our rescue to do the heavy lifting.  Neighbours raked leaves. One resident took it to the next level and did an amazing job mulching the leaves with his mower along all along the Evered path. Our teen brigade did a great job on Sunday transplanting perennials and mulching leaves to give the plants added winter protection.

Thanks to everyone who helped out. Stay tuned for more positive news coming soon about Clare Gardens Park.
