Appeal: Decision to accept the Domicile rezoning application

July 8, 2018 by westborowca
NOTICE OF MEETING JULY 10 & UPDATE SINCE JUNE 25 MEETING
(1)  NOTICE OF MEETING

1.1  An important meeting has been scheduled for Tuesday, July 10, 2018  from 7:00-9:00pm at the Churchill Seniors Recreation Centre, 345 Richmond Road
1.2  The purpose of the meeting is to introduce the Senior Planner, Mr. Dennis Jacobs and Lawyer Kristi Ross, who have been retained to research, prepare and file the application to appeal the City of Ottawa decision to accept the Domicile rezoning application.
1.3  They will explain the complete process from start to finish, the possible costs and residents who may need to appear as Appellants.
(2)  UPDATE SINCE LAST MEETING ON JUNE 25
2.1  Since the Westboro Residents meeting on June 25, 2018 a notification was sent to us on June 26 of the passing of the Domicile development.  A Notice of Appeal must be received no later than July 18, 2018 at 4:30pm which will require experts with the best knowledge and experience that we can find.
2.2  The Notice resulted in immediate action to find a Senior Planner and an experienced Lawyer.    Mr. Dennis Jacobs, Senior Planner, was recommended and consulted and then retained to help start the process.  Lawyer Kristi Ross was selected as she has the professional background and previous knowledge of the process as she was involved in the successful outcome of the Roosevelt Fendor OMB Appeal. (OMB now replaced by LPAT as of April 3, 2018)
2.3  A Community TD Canada Trust bank account in the name of the Westboro Residents Group was opened, with Michael Olsen and Robert Gaal acting as Trustees.
2.4  A gmail account was set up for the group; westbororesidentsgroup@gmail.com and emails were sent out to all registered residents who attended the meeting on June 25 and donations have started to flow.  If you wish to e-transfer your donation, the question is name of coffee shop, the answer Starbucks
2.5  Our Councillor Jeff Leiper has confirmed that he will attend the July 10 meeting

A very specific group of residents will be eligible to book vaccine appointments at community clinics next week. Please help us manage call volumes by only calling if you meet the criteria here: https://ottawa.ca/en/news/eligible-residents-will-be-able-book-covid-19-appointments-next-week
