Clare Gardens Park Construction Update

Good news! The watermain construction through the park is almost over. Most, if not all the construction will be completed by Thanksgiving. This access to the entire park is coming soon.

Here are the highlights of what visitors can expect:

  • The Athlone Avenue to Clare Street pathway will be paved and open to the public
  • The former pathway to the playstructures from the Athlone Avenue entrance will be reopened and the temporary path removed
  • All construction materials such as gravel and pipes will be removed
  • We will be working with a professional landscaper to restore the Athlone entrance garden beds, the garden bed with trees close to game/ picnic table near the Athlone pathway, and the garden beds with boulders at the Clare Street entrance.
  • A beautiful large boulder was found during construction. Any suggestions where you’d like this boulder to be placed? All suggestions will be discussed with the landscaper to ensure the boulder is placed in a safe location.

Once the garden beds are restored, The Volunteer Gardeners of Clare Gardens Park will replant the gardens for all to enjoy. We hope to have the plant transfer completed by November.

If you have any questions about the park’s return to normal, or with suggestions for the boulder placement, don’t hesitate to contact us.
