The Dovercourt Recreation Centre Parking and Stormwater Retrofit project in Ottawa replaces a deteriorating parking lot at 411 Dovercourt Avenue with new pavement, curbs, permeable surfaces, and a walkway median with trees and underground soil cells. It incorporates Low Impact Development (LID) features to reduce and treat local stormwater runoff.
Construction, which began on Sep. 8, will have two phases in order to retain some parking spots, but parking capacity will be significantly reduced until the project is completed in late Fall.
In the first phase, there will be 23 parking spots; in the second phase, 43 spots. Please do not park along the construction fence as it will block other cars. Walking, taking public transit, and cycling are great ways to visit the Centre during this project.
Note:
- The Communauto car will be removed from our lot.
- Paratranspo and all drop-offs (people & parcels) will use the upstairs entrance on Dovercourt Ave.
- Our bicycle racks will be relocated to the upper level.
