Help Needed for Annual Christmas Day Lunch and Fellowship!


Last Christmas Day, thanks to your kindness, we were able to bring comfort and joy to those in need in our community. Friends of Churchill, WCA and community partners served 400 meals and gave away gifts at the Churchill Seniors Centre! Because we exceeded at our capacity at the Centre, Dovercourt and WCA have kindly stepped forward to host the lunch this year, but we need your help to make this event a success!

DONATIONS
Except where noted below, donations can be dropped off at the Churchill Seniors Centre, 345 Richmond Road, from 8:00 am until 3:00 pm until December 19.
Frozen turkeys:
Must be dropped at the Centre before Wednesday, December 17
Dessert/baking:
Frozen: drop off at Churchill
Fresh: drop off at Dovercourt Recreation Centre, 411 Dovercout between 9:00 and 10:30 am on December 25.
Gifts
Gifts: warm clothing, hats, scarves, mitts, socks; personal care items; new toys and arts and craft items for about 24 children from toddlers to young teens; and some “nice-to-have” items – because it’s the holidays!
Cash
Cheques payable to “Friends of Churchill”. All cash donations will be used for food items/gifts.

VOLUNTEERS
Volunteers are needed for December 23, 24 and 25.

Tasks including set-up, preparation, serving food, staffing the gift tables, transporting a variety of items and more.

• Food preparation will be done at the Van Lang Fieldhouse, 29 Van Lang Private.
• Set-up/teardown and helping at the lunch will be done at Dovercourt Recreation Centre, 411 Dovercourt Ave.
