🚧Construction is Coming to Berkley, Dominion & Tay – Have Your Say Before August 11, 2026 🚧

The City of Ottawa is scheduled to begin a major infrastructure renewal project on Berkley Avenue, Dominion Avenue, and Tay Street starting August 2026, with construction expected to continue through Fall 2027 (including a winter pause).
The project includes:
🔹 Watermain and sewer replacement
🔹 Full road reconstruction
🔹 New curbs and sidewalks
🔹 Road closures, detours, and periods of limited driveway access
🔹 Construction hours of 7:00 a.m. – 10:00 p.m. on weekdays and Saturdays
This project will affect everyone living on these streets. The City is currently accepting public comments until August 11, 2026, and this is an opportunity for residents to share concerns and suggestions before construction begins.
A resident-led community platform has been created where you can:

Background
The City of Ottawa invites you to attend an upcoming public information session to discuss this reconstruction project. The meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, July 28, 2026 from 5:30pm to 7:30pm at Dovercourt Recreation Centre, 411 Dovercourt Avenue.
Through this session, the City of Ottawa will be presenting the latest design drawings, proposed schedule, and construction information related to this integrated renewal project. The information will be on display for your review and staff will be present to answer any questions and receive comments. There will not be a formal presentation at this open house. Please attend at your leisure.
Project summary
What: The project involves watermain and sewer replacement, road reconstruction and the addition of traffic calming features.
Why: The objective of this project is to rehabilitate underground and roadway infrastructure that is nearing the end of its lifespan. The project will also focus on improving the roadway surface drainage.
When: Construction is expected to commence in August 2026 and be completed by the fall of 2027. This will include a winter shutdown, during which construction activities will be paused and the road will remain accessible.
Where: Berkley Avenue, Dominion Avenue and Tay Street.
In addition to the above meeting, residents can also participate through viewing and commenting on the online documents to be posted after the event.
