The first Sherrypalooza event was held at the Westboro Legion in February 2014, to support our dear Westboro friend Sherry Clark, who was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2013.
Sherrypalooza was a night of live music supplied by Sherry’s musical friends and family members, as well as other fund-raising activities to help Sherry and her family after income losses during her cancer treatment. After the first event’s success, with Sherry herself at the forefront, we decided to hold the event annually. Sherry’s wish going forward was for the proceeds to be donated to the CIBC Run for the Cure and the Canadian Cancer Society.
Tragically, in Oct 2017, we lost our dear Sherry to breast cancer.
In the context of such a loss it felt fitting to continue this event as one of her legacies, to continue to come together in music, and to make a contribution to the work to find a cure for cancer.
