Join us for Earth Day on Wednesday, April 22, 2026 from 10:00 am till noon. Help us clean up Westboro’s main street!
Street litter is on the rise and most of it is plastic. Garbage can end up in our sewer system, and break down into small particles called microplastics. They aren’t biodegradable so don’t break down naturally. Picking up garbage protects our neighbourhood’s biodiversity and reduces the plastic particles in our waterways.
At 10:00 am, meet us at MEC’s big tent at 366 Richmond Road. We’ll give you a pair of Nitrile gloves and a litter bag. You’ll be assigned a patch of Richmond Road to clean up. By noon, simply return your bag to the MEC. Volunteers will separate the litter for disposal or recycling.
