Let’s Make 2025 the Year of Giving!

On behalf of the WCA, Chair Len Tucker donates to the Westboro Region Food Bank at an event organized by the Westboro Business Improvement Association in December. With Len is Martine Dore, Coordinator of the Food Bank and Rev. Chung Yan Lam, Associate Priest of All Saints Westboro Anglican.

WCA’s Community Outreach program supports projects throughout the year, but the holidays are always a special time!  This season, community partners including WCA provided Christmas lunch at the Churchill Seniors Center and organized goodie bags of baked goods and gift cards to residents of a local shelter.  We also donated to several local causes, including the Westboro Region Food Bank that operates at All Saints Westboro Anglican Church and First United Church on Richmond Road.  Food insecurity continues to be a huge problem.  The Ottawa Food Bank is decreasing its supplies to local banks by up to 50%, and this will have an impact on our  local Westboro bank.  So why not continue the holiday giving into the New Year by helping our neighbours in need? Cash donations to the Westboro Food Bank would be deeply appreciated and help fill the gap.  Details on how to donate can found on the Westboro Region Food Bank webpage.
