As we know, the municipal election is coming up on October 26. The Peoples Official Plan (POP) coalition, which the Community Action for Environmental Sustainability (CAFES) is part of, is putting on two non-partisan events to get our mayoral candidates on the record about climate, the environment and equity.
The second of these is the Mayoral Eco-Debate with the four leading candidates:
Thurs Sept 17, 6-8pm, Centretown United Church
Please RSVP HERE. Also note that the deadline to submit questions for the event is midnight Thursday, September 10, 2026. Link to submit questions is HERE.
Recap from the first event
Wed Aug 26, 6-8pm, Nepean Sportsplex, Hall A.
Mayoral Candidate Forum and Meet & Greet. All registered candidates were invited.
I wanted to take a moment to celebrate and thank everyone who helped make the August 26 Nepean Sportsplex All Mayoral Candidate Forum and Meet & Greet such a huge success! Both if you missed it and if you were there, here is a fun 1 minute Recap Video! (credit Simon Sage). We also received very positive feedback from Rogers TV, who told us the broadcast was very successful. The conversation reached far beyond the walls of Nepean Sportsplex, with many people tuning in online as well. You can watch the full forum here.
