The City of Ottawa invites you to attend an upcoming public information session to discuss this reconstruction project. The meeting is scheduled for Thursday, January 8, 2026, from 6 to 8pm in Mel Baker Hall at J.A. Dulude Arena, 941 Clyde Avenue, Ottawa ON K2C 4B2
Through this session, the City of Ottawa will be presenting the latest design drawings, proposed schedule, and construction information related to this integrated renewal project. The information will be on display for your review and staff will be present to answer any questions and receive comments. There will not be a formal presentation at this open house. Please attend at your leisure.
Project description
The City of Ottawa is undertaking the preliminary and detailed design for the renewal of Carling Avenue, Churchill Avenue North and Kirkwood Avenue. The existing watermain, sewers and road infrastructure have reached the end of their useful life and are in need of upgrading to provide the required level of service to the neighbourhood. Sidewalk renewal and cycling facilities will also be updated as part of the works.
Affected areas within the project limits, all or portions thereof, include:
Churchill Avenue North: Carling Avenue to Highway 417
Carling Avenue: Churchill Avenue North to Kirkwood Avenue
Kirkwood Avenue: Carling Avenue to Highway 417
Project timing
Design: fall 2025
Construction start: spring 2026
Construction completion: expected to be competed fall 2027
Project budget
Approved project funds to date are $1.9 million. Budget will be adjusted once the design is completed and prior to construction start date.
In addition to the above meeting, residents can also participate through viewing and commenting on the online documents to be posted after the event.
