Remembrance Day Ceremony

The service and wreath-laying ceremony will take place at the Westboro Cenotaph on November 11, 2025 at 2pm.

The Westboro Cenotaph, erected by the Westboro War Memorial Association, was dedicated on June 8, 1985 to honour the fallen members of Westboro and surrounding areas. It is located near Byron Avenue between Golden and Broadview avenues.

Councillor Leiper’s office wishes us to know that there will be some road closures on Tuesday November 11th in line with the Westboro Legion’s annual Remembrance Day parade and ceremony.

The parade will start around 1:30pm. Parade participants will line up along Madison Avenue behind the Legion, proceed briefly onto Churchill Avenue North, and then along Richmond Road to Broadview Avenue for a ceremony at the Westboro Cenotaph around 2:00pm. Finally, parade members will make their way back along Richmond Road to the Legion by 3:00pm.

Some single access locations and dead-end streets will be inaccessible during this brief period,
except to emergency vehicles.

Barricades and volunteers will be in place for the duration of the parade and ceremony. If you
have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to the Kitchissippi Ward office at
jeff.leiper@ottawa.ca, or to the Bay Ward office at bayward@ottawa.ca.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
